Moulin Rouge AU - Chapter One
"…998, 999, 1000…." There was a knock on the door. "Hey, Lee!" A man with messy brown hair, sharp black eyes with vertical slit-like pupils, and red fang markings on his cheeks peeked through the door. He was dressed in a tuxedo and holding a black walking stick under his arm. "Why are you still lifting weights? If you don't start dressing up, we're running late for the soirée at the Moulin." "Oh, I lost track of time!" Promptly Lee put his two dumbbells under the bed and ran to the bathroom. "I am just going to tidy myself up quickly. Give me five minutes!" Kiba sighed and turned around. "I don't know how he doesn't collapse with the amount of training he puts himself through. Are all chinese men like that?" "He is just a very hardworking person." Said a man with black sunglasses. "You can't say the same about yourself." A vein popped up in Kiba's forehead. "At least I work for a living!" He clicked his tongue. "You stay home philosophizing over stuff and feeding your weird bug

”Bwahhhhh!” cried Maito Gai at the top of his lungs. His eyes two fountains of tears creating a pond at his feet. “She hates me Kakashi! My lotus flower hates me now!” He took another paper tissue from the box on top of the Hogake’s desk and blew his stuffy nose loudly and unrestrainedly. Kakashi sweat-dropped watching the whole drama unamused. It certainly wasn’t his lucky day. First, he had a ton of paperwork to deal with, and then it went from bad to worse when his life long friend had broken into his office, full throttling his wheelchair and breaking his door, to talk about his worries regarding his team's kunoichi and her new friend from Takumi village. It was already the third time that week and that day it was related to how he saw Takao leave Tenten's house in the morning. Kakashi’s patience was wearing thin. What the hell had he to do with that? “Could you please stop storming my office to talk about this?” He heaved a deep sigh. “In case you haven’t noticed, I’m rather busy

Years after the Fourth Shinobi World War, Kiri had entered a prosperous state, becoming a modern and thriving city. The age of the bloody mist had ended, and finally, Kiri had opened up to outsiders. The positive outlook of the village started to attract tourists and the relations between other villages couldn’t be better. While the vast majority of citizens were happy with the overflowing liveliness of their village, undergoing transformation and reconstruction, there was still a small minority that was both very distrusting and hateful towards outsiders, even some who longed for the old days of the "Blood Mist Village". Help to stop the riots in Kiri of the anti-reinvention faction was becoming a major problem for the Fifth Mizukage and her retainer, therefore Konoha had sent trustworthy ninja as reinforcements. Rock Lee was among one of those. His mission squad had arrived at Kiri’s docks that afternoon. It took them five days to reach the hidden village, part of the journey had

Lee felt lost. Distraught. Like a complete mess inside. His brain was in knots. He hadn’t eaten very well for the past two days and hadn’t been able to sleep properly too. His mind kept rewinding the moment his teammate had grabbed him and kissed him. Her last words echoed in his mind ‘I wouldn’t kiss a man I wasn’t interested in.’. He touched his lips unconsciously. What could she mean? Was that a confession? His stomach flip-flopped. Was she interested in him? In which way was she interested in him? Was she romantically interested in him? Lee flinched with embarrassment and a blush rose to his cheeks. No, that was not possible. Right? Or was it? Although he knew she cared deeply about him, as he did for her, she never showed any romantic feelings towards him. Or did she? He was so bemused by the recent events he was starting to doubt his own sense of judgment. In his defence, he never noticed it at least. Lee dropped his head and scratched it frustrated. And what did she mean by

Tenten rested her hand on the surface of the old cherry blossom tree trunk planted in the middle of Konoha’s village center, and her brown chocolate eyes revolved once more everything around her. She had been, for quite some time, searching every corner of that garden looking for clues as to what might have happened last night at Hinata’s wedding party, but her efforts were not yielding any results. She sighed and dropped her head disheartened. Ahhh… I’ll never drink again, I swear. “Tenten-san.” Called a gentle and sweet-shooting voice. The weapons kunoichi raised her head and looked over her shoulder at a dark blue-haired girl with exquisite pearl eyes walking towards her. “Ah, Hinata.” “Still can’t remember anything?” She looked at her friend concerned. Tenten crossed her arms and gave her a discouraging look before sighing. “No. Nothing all.” She didn’t even want to believe her long best friendship could have been ruined overnight because of sake, she felt so ashamed of herself.
